So this was actually a 'flat colored sketch' commission. Originally.
Forresttail gave me the keyword 'Shadow' and actually i didn't really know what to do with it. All the references he gave me seemed very cute and not 'shadowy' at all. After scanning his Profile i read that his character Forrest has to deal with a lot of mental barriers such as shyness and general lack of confidence.
And then the picture snowballed into a rather basic soft shaded one.
I've had to deal with things like that for all my life. Having no confidence in yourself, not being able to really look other people in the eye, always walking with your head down to avoid to be seen. It destroys you inside and at times it's so frustrating to not be able to be 'normal'.
I guess everyone has his demons inside that sometimes reach out for you in the dark night. "
